| The Public Education Foundation of Moore County,
Inc. was incorporated in 1984 as a nonprofit organization with 501(c) (3) tax
status, and since its inception has contributed more than $250,000 to enhance
education in Moore County. The Board of Directors contains up to 25 members,
and these impassioned volunteers come from varied backgrounds and geographic
locations around the county.
The mission of the Public Education Foundation is to encourage excellent educational
practices in Moore County public schools by providing financial support and
recognition for creative, engaging learning experiences.
Community support is mandatory to help us raise the funds that are then Granted
to teachers for creative educational projects. We plan and execute a variety
of fundraising events in order to help fulfill our mission, and our principal
event is an annual celebration in which we induct new members to the Moore County
Graduates’ Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame recognizes graduates of the
Moore County public school system who have gone on to distinguish themselves
in their chosen fields.
